Visualisations help to understand complex information and their context.
Information design is not just about beautiful graphics. It should communcate complex content in an easily understandable and approachable way. In order to make that possible, i use systematic design approaches. Information design always starts with the information.
From there, i use design methods like design thinking and frequent qualitative and quantitative user testing to structure the content.
This makes it possible to generate state of the art visualisations that work for the audience.
Every good piece of Information Design starts with extensive research on the subject, the target group and visual approaches on the topic. The information is filtered and sorted with the user in mind.
Sketches and fast prototypes are used to plan an original information design approach on the topic. Different media are considered as well as diverse visualisation types in order to create the ideal design.
Finally, the concepts have to be produced.
I use diverse techniques like the Adobe Suite, 3D-Software, Paper Sketches, Animation and Web Developement to realize the envisioned concepts.
